Sharpening my plain edged knives with Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker using the medium grit and fine grit stones. I'm using the 40 degrees angle slot of the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker base to put my grinding stones.
The knife sharpener has two types of grinding stones. The grey colored medium grit stones and the white colored fine grit stones.
Step 1 : Use the corner of the medium grit stones to achieve shaped edge.
20 strokes on left stones and 20 on right stones holding the blade vertically, slice down the stone from heel to tip of the blade.
Step 2 : Use the flat surface of the medium grit stones to achieve utility edge.
20 strokes on left stones and 20 on right stones holding the blade vertically, slice down the stone from heel to tip of the blade.
Step 3 : Use the corner of the fine grit stones to achieve honed edge.
20 strokes on left stones and 20 on right stones holding the blade vertically, slice down the stone from heel to tip of the blade.
Final Step 4 : Use the flat surface of the fine grit stones to achieve razor edge on the knife.
20 strokes on left stones and 20 on right stones holding the blade vertically, slice down the stone from heel to tip of the blade.
After sharpening, I had fun shredding papers to check if it's sharp enough. \\\\ ٩(`(エ)´ )و ////
The knife i use in the video is Leatherman Wave multi-tool knife. The knife in the photo is Spyderco Manix 2 folding knife. Both are plain edged knives..I used the same method to sharpen both of them.
