Singapore Chinatown & People's Park Street Food

Singapore Chinatown is a cultural district with rows and rows of restored old British colonial era Victorian shop houses and buildings. Shoppers could find local street food, traditional or oriental costumes , souvenirs and bargains in Chinatown street markets.

Singapore Chinatown street during the day. There are less shops open in Chinatown during the day. Most shops open at night. The Chinatown night market starts from evening till 11pm at night. I arrived at Chinatown in the mid afternoon after lunch for photos and stroll until evening. It's a day before Chinese New Year eve the Chinatown will be very crowded at night.
Singapore's oldest Hindu Temple
Lunar New Year banner at the gate of Sri Mariamman Temple at Pagoda Street, Chinatown Singapore. It's a holy place there's a signboard at the entrance. The visitors are not allowed to wear shoes and take pictures inside the temple.

A restored old Victorian shop house along the Chinatown street. There are lots of restored shop houses in Chinatown and this old restored unique building in the photo is a mix of Hindu and Victorian architecture with Hinduism and elephant crafting depicted on the walls.

An Oriental Tailor shop in Chinatown street displaying a blue  'cheong sam' or 'qipao' (a tailor made traditional chinese lady long dress). There's two men's coat displayed at the side. Other than tailor made oriental wear, there are lots of shops selling ready made oriental wear like chinese oriental shirt, skirt and qipao along the streets in Singapore Chinatown

Pig's Innards ( Pig ear) Chinese street food
My dad bought this chinese exotic cuisine of pig's ear at a pig innards food stall outside People's Park Complex located along Eu Tong Sen street.

山东大烧饼 Shan Dong Da Shao Bing ( big chinese pan fried pastry or pancake filled with meat and vegetables) Dad bought this out of curiousity. A big sized chinese pancake sold at food stall outside People's Park Complex. Taste good when it's hot.
