Temenggor Lake Natives' Village Malaysia

We were brought by the Jahai tribe natives to their village to view their culture. The villagers were living in long wooden houses on the island and there was a lot of kids playing around the island.

This is a half built home of the natives in the village...

A cute hut with cute kids at the door.

A village on an island by the lake

Small huts and long wooden houses.

A peek at the houses by the lake. They have this big water tank built outside of every home.

A close view of the villager's hut. The roof looks alike the roof we built for our jungle survival shelter with palm fronds in my previous post http://chockatevideo.blogspot.com/2013/08/building-survival-shelter.html.

Each and every home in the village has an external water tank built outside their home. They built homes which we called them as 'Rumah Panjang' long wooden homes with wooden legs built on uneven ground

These are dead trees lining along the banks of the lake at the island. It was once a valley before the valley was flooded by the construction of the Temenggor dam. The flood create these islands

The villagers grew jackfruit trees at the entrance of the island....there was a lot of fruits on the tree.

A native of the island selling souvenirs at a community hut in the village. He was holding a comb made of bamboo. These are hand crafted combs with crafted arts on comb. He was selling hand made baskets too.

From Left : Necklace made of barley seeds & Ring made of bamboo.

Barley Necklaces, Barley Bracelets, and Hand made baskets.

A group of people on a small boat traveling to another island near the village.

Islands and view of the Temenggor lake during my boat ride.
