Waterfall at Temenggor Lake Malaysia on Rainy Day

After lunch, we were going to bath at the waterfall in the island. There were plenty of waterfalls and islands in Tasik Temenggor lake. The Jahai tribe natives showed us the way to the waterfall.

We were required to hike up some very steep, narrow and slippery jungle trails at the hill before reaching the waterfall in the island. Because of the constant raining, the ground is very muddy...with lots of leeches.I sprayed leech, insect repellent Mosi Guard from head to toe...yet the leeches still able to sting me. It was drizzling while we were hiking up the hill down to the waterfall in the rain. The rain washed away my insect repellent... >< I'm exposed to leech bites.

After some hard work hiking, the rain stopped and we reached the waterfall in one of the islands at the lake. It's not an easy hiking at all because there were 2 fallen gigantic trees fallen at certain part of the jungle trails blocking the way. The giant wood logs were too big that i couldn't climb over with my legs I'm too short and petite compared to the other hikers. I had to be pushed on top of the wood log roll over like a worm to the other side of the tree back to the narrow jungle trail. Scary ><

Finally my horrified hiking was over felt like being tortured when trying to climb over the fallen giant wood logs on the steep and narrow trail. If i knew it earlier i wouldn't be hiking up to the waterfall. Not surprised having fallen trees destroying the trails it had been raining on and off twice each day.

After few minutes of bathing in the waterfall, we were suddenly attacked by a sudden heavy rain downpour... we were told by the Jahai tribe natives to go down the hill because it is dangerous to stay at the waterfall. These on and off rain was driving us nuts. We hurried went down the hill.

Back at the camp I was totally out of dry clothes...so I'm wearing wet clothes while having dinner. I kept a set of dry clothes zip locked in a vacuum zipper bag inside the hammock for sleeping. I was lucky I rolled up my hammock before going to the waterfall else I might end up with a wet hammock to sleep in because it rained heavily.

Then, we get cold soaking ourselves in the rain. We boiled a pot of hot water to make tea. We made some hot herbal red date longan tea in the rain.

I was feeling cold in my wet clothes, these hot red date tea helped me feel better.

Drinking hot tea in my own tent while waiting for the natives to barbeque our camping food with firewood. We were having campfire at night in the rain under a big flysheet as shelter.
